Berlin du kannst so schön sein. So belebt und bunt.

Unsealed, socially managed and thus freely available spaces make the city what it is. They are places of neighbourhood and social communication and in this way promote democratic urban structures. There is no doubt that it is precisely these structures that require special protection. This is all the more true at a time when liberal ownership structures, often focussed on financial gain, are at the forefront. The social utilisation of potential areas such as the wet triangle is therefore at the forefront. It should have permanent uses for citizens that will remain indispensable in the future. For us, these are the uncurated use of open space, the permanent protection of the resulting ecosystem and the implementation of urgently needed living space that is in harmony with the social and ecological structure of the triangle. Speculative price increases should be prevented to ensure social utilisation. The conditions of use are always linked to social and ecological goals. This model creates long-term stability, affordable housing and more equitable land use, as the value of the land benefits the community rather than the market.

Accordingly, the newly implemented residential uses are placed at the entrances of the wet triangle in such a way that they do not disturb the existing ecosystem. An elevation and circulation-orientated building technology lead to a minimal footprint that saves resources and complements the social space. The efforts are visible through the building structures and their elements, such as the visible water filters, rainwater collection basins or a public compost collection point. The result is a system that can harmonise nature, social and living space structures in urban areas.
